According to the NRED licensing dept., “we advise licensees to renew inactive and submit Form 580 and pay the renewal fee. No education is required to renew a license in inactive status.” You mentioned your license was expiring June 30th, so you should renew inactive in person or via mail and postmarked no later than June 30th so it will be accepted on time. Any renewals submitted late will incur a late fee. Once you’re renewed inactive, be advised not to conduct any real estate activities that require a real estate license until you have completed all of your education requirements. You can then reinstate your license with your broker on Form 544, pay the reinstatement fee ($30), as well as an administrative fine of $250.00.
